Concerns of the Present

Limited Space:

• Insufficient Historical Society area
• No browsing space
• Little Table Space/Limited Study Area
• Not enough Video/Audio/DVD space
• No space for expansion of computer services
• Lack of appropriate work desk area and staff workroom space
• Inadequate parking areas and traffic flow

Sectional Problems:

• Juvenile area is a walk-through for other parts of the library
• Limited space for Young Adults
• Limited space for Reference Books

Safety:

• Out of compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act due to space constraints
• Questionable load-bearing capacity of floors
• Limited visibility to allow staff to ensure safety of children using library
• Limited bathroom facilities

Limited Shelving:

• Shelves are completely full
• Older books must be discarded to accommodate new ones
• No room for growth
• Inadequate shelving for oversized children’s books
